Johannesburg, Soweto & Pretoria City Tour (B,L,D)

After breakfast, depart for Johannesburg, Soweto, and Pretoria City Tour.

After a drive through Johannesburg City, we will visit the famous Soweto (an abbreviation for South-West Township). From its beginnings as a creation of apartheid South Africa, Soweto has become the vibrant, trendsetting heart of Johannesburg, the City of Gold. It is a cultural melting pot of over a million black people, many of whom remain there because of its heritage as the center of the struggle against apartheid. Following the Soweto tour, we will depart to Pretoria – the capital of South Africa, popularly known as Jacaranda City, with purple-fringed streets that are a sight to behold. Pretoria is one of South Africa’s leading academic cities.

After lunch, the tour continues with a trip to Union Building, Pretoria Church Square; the historic center of Pretoria. The most prominent feature at the center of the square is the statue of the Boer leader and president of the South African Republic, Paul Kruger. The Palace of Justice and the Old Capitol are two of several historically and architecturally significant buildings in the area. The tour will be finished at the Voortrekker Monument.

Enjoy dinner and overnight at hotel.

  • 4

Johannesburg to Kruger National Park by road (B,L,D)

After breakfast, depart for Kruger National Park – the jewel of South Africa.

The park, in northeastern South Africa, is one of Africa’s largest game reserves. Its high density of wild animals includes the Big 5: lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, and buffalos. Hundreds of other mammals make their home here, as do diverse bird species such as vultures, eagles, and storks. Mountains, bush plains, and tropical forests are all part of the landscape. The largest game reserve in South Africa. Nearly 2 million hectares of land stretch for 352 kilometers (20,000 square kilometers) from north to south along the Mozambique border, offering an almost indescribable wildlife experience. It certainly ranks with the best in Africa and is the flagship of the country’s national parks, rated as the ultimate safari experience.

After lunch, you will proceed to check-in at hotel.

Enjoy dinner and overnight at hotel.

  • 5

Full-Day Safari in Kruger National Park (B,L,D)

After an early breakfast, depart for a Full-Day Safari in Kruger National Park.

The park is an important stronghold for several of Africa’s most iconic large mammals. It supports more than half the world’s remaining white rhinos, along with substantial populations of buffaloes, elephants, black rhinos, leopards, cheetahs, African wild dogs, giraffes, and one of the few viable lion populations in southern Africa. Birding in Kruger National Park is also excellent, particularly in the summer. Other wildlife you can see at Kruger National Park includes baboons, warthogs, hyenas, many small predators, and around a dozen antelope species.

Lunch in the park. After the safari, you will be transferred back to the lodge.

Enjoy dinner and overnight in hotel.

  • 6

    Panorama Tour (B,L,D)

After breakfast, depart for the Panorama Tour.

To the east of the city Mashishing, over the Mauchberg Ridge, you will find a way around the 50-km pass through the picturesque Long Tom Pass, which was previously used for the transport of goods to Sabie Town. Forests cover the surrounding hills, and almost all of South Africa’s major paper mills are located here. From the pass, the road goes north along the steep mountain slope. It offers stunning views, known as the Panorama Route. Drive further on, approximately 86 km north of Sabie through the small town of Graskop in the direction of the Blyde River Canyon where more breathtaking views can be experienced. This is waterfall country, as many waterfalls surround the area. These include Sabie Falls, Horseshoe Falls, Lone Creek Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and MacMac Falls (so named by Scottish miners who worked in this area during the Gold Rush). Lunch during the tour.

Enjoy dinner and overnight at hotel.

Guided Tour of Victoria Falls (B,L,D)

After breakfast, explore Victoria Falls on a 2-hour walking tour and discover one of the world’s most magnificent waterfalls.

Listed as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, the waterfall is also known as Mosi-oa-Tunya, meaning ‘smoke that thunders’ in Kololo. It's a name that resonates considering you can admire the mist of the roaring falls from some 20 miles (32 km) away. At roughly 1.2 miles (2 km) wide and 360 feet (108 m) tall, Victoria Falls is one of the world’s largest waterfalls – it's double the size of Niagara Falls.

    Lunch at the hotel.

Transfer for evening Sunset Dinner Cruise on the Zambezi River and dinner.

The cruise takes place along the river boundary of the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park. During the cruise, guests are likely to see hippos, crocodiles, and some good birdlife. Possible other game sightings include elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and bucks (although sightings cannot be guaranteed). An experienced guide accompanies each cruise who has good knowledge of the wildlife and local history of the area. Excellent food is served on board and the bar is well-stocked with spirits, good wines, beers, and soft drinks.

    Overnight at hotel.

  • 10

Full Day Safari at Chobe National Park (B,L,D)

After an early breakfast, you will start an amazing full-day safari at Chobe National Park in Botswana. The park takes its name from the Chobe River. The Chobe River forms the northern boundary and protects about 11,700 square km. Its vegetation varies from lush floodplains to the scorched Savuti marsh. This is a classic big game country where herds of buffalo and elephants attain legendary proportions. These are matched by an exceptionally large lion pride. What makes the northern part of Chobe unique is the fact that it lies next to the Chobe River for almost 60 km. This allows for excellent game viewing along the Chobe River drive. Animals come to drink water here. Large raptors nest close to the Chobe River and there is an abundance of water birds and migrating birds.

Lunch will be served during the tour.

Chobe National Park includes Savuti in the south of the park. Savuti is 5-6 hours south of the Chobe River Front. Savuti has one large public campsite close to the Savuti Marsh.

After the tour, enjoy dinner and overnight at hotel.
